My new PC

Since I started college, I have been planning to get a PC instead of a laptop that everybody uses in college. So on the 26/12 I went to the famous IT spot in Malaysia, Low Yat Plaza. I've always wanted to custom build my PC so I did. The budget was something below RM3000, minus the monitor. Well it didn't got that high. It was "just" RM2600++. Want to know what I got for that much? I'll tell you in a bit. But first let me tell you about the day.

I went to Low Yat Plaza with my whole family excluding my younger sister. So we got out of house at noon. Just in time for the Friday prayers. After the prayers, I and my father walked to Sungei Wang Plaza to join the rest of my family for lunch at KFC. After that we walk to Low Yat Plaza and went straight to a computer retail store named Thunder Match. There I got a staff and told him the parts I need. All of the parts are from that store except for the processor which I got from PC3 and the speaker is from AllIT. The processor was a pain to look for and the speaker took a number of stores too. The monitor was courtesy of my father. He happened to have an extra one. The PC assembly was also done by the technical team of the store too free of charge. When I got home I only have to install the OS and the drivers. And the end of the day, I still found all I wanted. So here are the parts of my PC:

  • Processor - Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 8MB Cache Dual Latency
  • Motherboard - Asus P5K PRO 775
  • Memory - Kingston HyperX DIMM 4GB DDR2 800MHz
  • HDD - Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm 500GB 32MB SATA
  • Graphic Card - Asus nVIDIA GeForce 9500GT 512MB GDDR3 w/HDMI
  • Disk Drive - Lite-On DVD+/-RW 20x Dual Layer
  • Casing - iCute P4 ATX 500W Black w/ blue neon
  • OS - Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium
  • Mouse - Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer
  • Keyboard - HP ergo-Keyboard
  • Speaker - Sonic Gear Evo 3 Pro
  • Monitor - HP L1908w 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor
In short, I'm very happy. Now I have my own PC. A high end PC to top it off. I'm very grateful. And it's a PC . So I can upgrade the parts as time goes by. I'm thankful to my parents for forking out money for this (half of which is mine) and also God for answering my prayers. Hehe. Now let's get cracking!

P/S: rase cam nak tambah lg 4GB RAM. Huhu.

Ice breaking session

Actually this was an unplanned event. This happens in a particular English class on the 23/12. The lecturer did say something about making the class "as interesting as possible" so she came up with this. After doing a random essay as ordered by the lecturer to check our grammar and composition, the next hour of the class was utilized with this. For your information the students of my class changes according to subjects so I never had the same set of classmates every time.

In this session, we had to stick a piece of paper on our backs using a cellophane tape to our backs. Everybody seems so excited for this event while yours truly, as always, was just uninitiated. Hehe. Anyways, we were given around 15 minutes to write on each others back before we were asked to sit in a circle to discuss what were written. This is what I've got. No edits.

Wow I've got so many positive comments! Thanks peeps! Even though I don't know you. Well, maybe it's because you don't know me that I was given such comments. Huhu. Nonetheless I am not the same person in class as I am out of it. So the following is an evaluation of me in class. Oh yes and about the "Masih single!!!" comment I also did state to the class that I'm unavailable. Hehe.

The time where we had to tell everyone what we think about what was written on the paper was hilarious! I was really LMAO!! Haven't had such a good laugh in a long time. There are a few in which I remember that was just tickles my sense of humor.
  • "Thank you for borrowing this pen"
  • "Belanja"
  • "You look like a chinese" to a chinese guy [this one made me laugh into tears]
  • "Poor you. Buy new jeans" to a guy wearing jeans with holes at knees
  • "I am ugly"
  • "I am unattractive"
  • "Top up free ade?"
  • "Free top up?"
  • "Kick me"
And some more which I just can't seem to recall. But it was funny alright. The class even took 15 extra minutes and nobody complained. Random people giving random comments are funny.

In a nutshell, random is funny.

We had to separate

I'll miss you! We had some great times together. Although you were actually someone else's, I still like you for whatever you are. I wish this day would not come but I know it is inevitable. Nothing is forever. But never knew it would end this soon. This is so sad. Wish I had you earlier. But I was left with no choice. The guy who you originally was with wants you back. If fate is upon us, we will be together again, PlayStation Portable...

[9/12/08 - 26/12/08]
In memory...

My college's Foundation students motivational talk

The motivational talk was being held on the morning of 20th December 2008, which is on a Saturday. For your information, I am someone who goes home from college every single weekend. Well due to many factors of course such as free food, cleaner toilet, and more comfortable beds. But the most important this is I get to go online! Which is the main reason why I go home on the Friday afternoon although the motivational talk is just the morning a day after. Why waste energy and time? Well, because I just love going online late at night. There's a sense of serenity to it. And joy.

So the night before I had to wake up early in the morning, I slept around 4.30 due to some Skype activities. So you guys must be thinking "Wow this guy is one lousy planner who doesn't manage his sleep at all!" Well, you're partially correct. My sleeping hours is all over the place but hey, for some reason I can postpone my sleep hours and replace it later. For example; if I sleep for only 4 hours tonight, I can replace the remaining 4 hours of sleep the following day, or recently, I didn't even replace my sleep. Huhu.

Ok back on track. So I asked a very dear person to me to wake me up at 6.40am. I did wake up. But since my dad can send me to the bus station, in which I had to take a bus to my college, gave me around an hour of spare time in which I utilized to the fullest by some extra sleeping time. Hehe. But thanks to the person who woke me up earlier to that I slept with my subconcious mind still perfectly awake. Can you do it? Hehe I can. So I woke up at 7.30am, took a shower, had cereals for breakfast, and got sent to Kajang's bus station to catch a bus. The bus didn't have air-cond for God's sake! I don't know whether the AC unit of the bus is broken or maybe the driver is just feeling cold, but you know what happens when air doesn't circulate in a confined space, the incubation of odors. I ignore all of that and took the available oppoturnity to semi-sleep. Hehe.

So the bus arrived to the bus station at exactly 9am, in which the talk is supposed to start. The bus station from my college is about 500m away so I had to walk. When I got there thank God the talk hasn't started yet because the speakers close the door before they start talking in which late entry will induce people to look at you as the center of attraction when you're opening the door. Ok wouldn't need that extra publicity. So the talk went on continuously with no 5 minutes break whatsoever until 12.30pm. Luckily the speakers wasn't as stale as stale bread and they really managed to keep us awake. It was fairly entertaining. They do have a good sense of humor though. Luckily. There was also a session in which they would call a volunteer to break an arrow. Yes that arrow. How? By pressing the pointy part of the arrow against a spot below your neck. Touch for the softest part on the lowest part of your neck. Yes that was where the pointy part of the arrow applied on in order to break it. Well the tip of the arrow is not as sharp as a spear as all of you have in mind now. It's pretty blunt actually but with velocity, it does penetrate stuffs.

So before they press that arrow against that part of the volunteer's body, they asked him to call upon his closest friend to give some supporting word. Out of no where he suddenly said my name! I barely know this kid and truthfully I'm a little annoyed by his childish attitude. So at first I thought,"Ok this must be another guy named Rezza or Redza or any other spelling that brings the same pronunciation". Still in a state of disbelief I look everywhere around the hall in hopes that he meant some other guy. And then he pointed at me. Ok now this guy is really freaking me out. When did I became his closest friend is beyond my knowledge. So the speakers asked me to say some final words before he goes on with it. Refusing to think hard for a good thing to say, I just said "Have fun". Everyone laughed. Yeah I guess that is a pretty good dark sarcasm I have there. A pat on the back for myself. Hehe.

After all of that, the talk ended on 12.30pm. The talk was ok. Nothing I didn't know or heard already. Still a worthwhile though. The jokes alone is a good reason for travel I guess. And there was a quote that the speaker quoted from another quoter and I do think it's a very good quote that I want to share with everyone, and everyone should trust it too. Regardless of who you are.

In the end, everything is going to be OK. If it's not OK, then it's not the end

Just my condition

For the people who knows me well enough to know that I think a lot should also know, I simply think too much. Well, too much for a guy my age. I have some gray hair as you all can see. Some people says it's due to excessive thinking and some say it's due to some problems of nutrients deficiency. For professional reasons, I think I'll accept the latter proclamation. I have also developed a supposedly hereditary disease all by myself due to overwhelming pressure and all thanks to me. And also thanks to me, all of my descendant should have this sickness. All because of me. I think you guys should know what disease I'm talking about and the reason this blog is posted is because I want to do something to reduce or even better recover from this. Wouldn't want such things to slow me down. I don't know why that it's just recently that I'm worried of my health conditions. When I was younger I thought stress is just like breathing, you will have to go through it all the time. It seems that I'm wrong. Really wrong. Now I have sudden headaches which isn't fun at all. But as time goes I get use to it. So it's not really much of a problem anymore.

In a nutshell, I need to de-stress, unwind and relax. Probably a nice vacation with a small number of peoples. Maybe even a nice relaxing spa. Don't know if I'll ever have the time to do so but I really want to. Will be even better if I'm doing such activities with people who actually gives a damn about me.

This sickness is serious peeps and I'm not having fun at all. Help me if you could. But on a lighter note, at least I'm still standing. Praise to the God!

My 3rd semester

My class will commence this Monday (15/12/08) and this semester will go on until the 10th of February in which I'll have exactly a month of semester break (baru lepas cuti dah ckp pasal cuti lg. huhu). This will be my final semester for my Foundation in Computer Sciences before I start my hell on earth namely the Higher National Diploma (HND) or also known as Pre-Degree, in which I prefer to refer it to. Thaty will go on until March of 2011. For this semester I will only have 3 subjects which are:-

  • [IMM1043] Multimedia Principles
  • [PEC1013] Introduction to Economics
  • [HLE1123] Technical English
I still don't know how I will bare with these subjects but hopefully I wouldn't have a problem. IMM sounds good. Hopefully it would be as simple as last semester's IT. PEC is a new thing for me. But I already have a personal trainer. Someone who is willing to help me with it. Thank you so much! You know who you are ;-) HLE is also a new thing to me. I don't know how it actually is. But if I'm not mistaken it's more about grammar and comprehension with a deeper look into it's usage.

Since this is a short semester, there will be no mid term exam, straight to the finals.

Hopefully I can perform better than my 2nd semester. Keep on supporting me, peeps!

My 2nd semester final results out

Well I'm not a genius as you can see. But I'll try my best to be closer to it.

  • Academic Communicative English 2 (ACE2) - [A]
  • Engineering Mathematics 2 - [B]
  • Pengajian Malaysia (Malaysian Studies) - [A-]
  • Introduction to Programming - [A]
  • Introduction to Information Technology - [A]
*there's no such thing as A+ in my college

So in short, I got 3As, 1A-, and 1B

CGPA=3.73

ACE2 - It's English with emphasis on grammar rules and comprehension. If you frequently use English this wouldn't be difficult at all, denying all of people's claim of "English ni susah la. Kau bleh la kau terer". So I didn't get to this "terer" stage magically though. It's not difficult seriously as long as you have interest. Trust me.

Maths - Thank God! Last time I got a C. An improvement! Hopefully I can do better and consistently imrove through time and effort. Though the effort part does come a little harder. Hehe.

PM - It's history for the uninitiated. Emphasizing on the important and significant events of generally Malaysian history. Involves a lot of reading and memorizing. Earlier experiences of studying this subject during high school does give a hand. This isn't helped by the fact that the lecturer isn't really someone who keeps you awake. Ehem.

Prog - It's simple when initially, but when everything that you've learned is mixed in seamless kind of way that is sometimes takes more "nurture and attention" to actually notice is quite confusing at times. Haha. That's a long sentence I typed there. Try reading it in one breath and as quick as you can. Hehe. In a nutshell, not for everyone. People with great interest only. I do get confused with this subject too most of the time. Huhu.

IT - A very general subject. If you're up to date with the current IT world in general, this subject is a mere speedbump. Huhu. Fairly simple. I did its Test 1 within 5 minutes! And got an A. Whether you want to believe it or not is your choice. The lecturer is my mentor in my college's mentor/mentee program. Barely benefit from this program though. I don't see the use.

Well, improvement from last semester. Hopefully I can be more consistent. And hardworking. Hehe. Thank you for all of your support. Couldn't have done it without some of you ;-)

2nd sem holiday ending

My 2nd semester college holiday is coming to an end soon. Turns out I did nothing in this holiday. Nothing to unwind and de-stress before my new semester starts. Well. Maybe I might as well bring all the stress forward into my next semester. What else can I do anyway.
